The COCA-COLA Collection: The Vintage Vending Machine Edition
In the early days of COCA-COLA, people tasted their COCA-COLA at a soda fountain. A common sight at pharmacies and diners and "malt shops," the soda fountain was often the heart and soul of a town or neighbourhood. When the availability of COCA-COLA began to expand, the challenge was to find the most efficient way to get the refreshing taste of COCA-COLA to the public. Various vending machines were developed so that COCA-COLA could be sold - usually in bottles - at places where there was no fountain.
One exception to the bottle vending machine was the "Multiplex Fountain Dispenser." This vending machine held two containers of COCA-COLA syrup and had a carbonated soda water dispenser on its side. Made throughout the 1930s, it was not patented until 1939. It is truly one of the more unique ways that COCA-COLA brought its clean, refreshing taste to an ever growing public. That's why this vintage machine commands such high prices on those rare occasions when a collector can find one for purchase.
Now, the priceless "Multiplex Fountain Dispenser" is seen in bright colours on the sides of a 1926 Ford Model TT bearing the message "Around the Corner from Everywhere." Your model is produced by Matchbox Collectibles.
